In Response To: Re: On Quitting - Extreme Measures Required (DS) : I don't think : people sit down, turn on the xbox, and think "You know what I'm gonna : do? I'm gonna enter some games and quit!" No, but many, many, MANY players enter games and think "If we get brutes on Turf I'm gonna quit!" or "If I don't get Gulch Wars on Coag I'm gonna quit!" I hear comments like this in pregame lobbies more than anything else. And then once the game starts, and it's something they don't want to play, they're out. Personally, I don't think it's reasonable to go into a matchmaking playlist with a dozen gametypes and consciously choose to quit if you don't get ONE of those dozen - but lots of people, apparently, would file this under your 'This isn't fun' quit rationale. Yes, I think those people should be penalized; if your tastes are that limited, put together a group of people who think like you do and play customs - but don't ruin it for the rest of us who are trying to have fun with whatever comes along. I'm all for a 5-minute quit-and-you're-benched penalty; I even think it's justified for laggers (it's not like your connection is suddenly going to improve the second you quit).
