But what if I don't care about my rank, and I just play for fun? So I'm in a game, I quit because it's not fun for me, and I lose 5 ranks, only to possibly screw up games for people who are ranked lower than me (and I am better at the game at), causing them to quit because it's not fun for them, and so on. Another bad idea. I don't pay for Xbox live to impose penalties on me for not enjoying a game. So I should sit there in a match where I'm experiencing unplayable lag, because if I quit, I'll just have to sit in the lobby and wait for a better game? : Hmm...let me know where the loopholes are in my thinking. If by loophole you mean a way to abuse the system you've created, then sure, there are probably loopholes. But it's a dumb system because it forces recreational players to take it more seriously than they might want to. The problem with this "solution" is that it focuses on penalizing people as a means to stop quitting rather than give people more incentives to stay in the game. I believe they've mentioned a "voting" system, which will help provide immediate feedback on gametypes and keep people from playing a game they have no interest in. They've also mentioned some change to the ranking system (that is, the way it is displayed to the player).
