In Response To: Re: Halo Wars=NOT a Bad Game, COMPLETELY Canon (Cody Miller) : Sometimes I wonder why Marathon's story was so intriguing. Then I remember it : was because there were no encyclopedias, no graphic novels, no books, no : bestiaries, no animes, no film adaptations, and no radio dramas or ARGs, : but just us, our deductive powers, imaginations, and Hamish Sinclair. : Less is more. This reminds me of an all-too-informative story: Did you know that, originally, the troll that stomps on Aragorn's chest in the film Return of the King was actually Sauron? I've even heard it said that the troll's actually covering up Sauron's actor in the final frame, though I'm not as sure of that. When I learned that, I thought, "This really explains a lot of how they managed to hork up the script for the last two films so badly." To ever put Aragorn and Sauron fighting in any draft, let alone getting to shooting it, demonstrates painfully clearly that the authors really didn't understand Sauron's place in the story, or the principle that "Less is more". -Nate (thinks that actually, "less is more" is a big part of why he liked the original Halo so much better than H2 or H3)
