In Response To: Halo Wars=NOT a Bad Game, COMPLETELY Canon (Lord Osiris) http://forums.bungie.org/halo/archive31.pl?read=919657 And what Microsoft decides as canon is NOT necessarily canon. Bungie is clearly still working on Halo, even if Reach is where it stops, and they therefore are still the creators, owners, and expanders of the true Halo Story Bible. Therefore, Halo Wars may not be anything like what Bungie had planned or envisioned, and whatever 343 may end up doing could be huge blasphemy (note to Frankie: I'm not expecting it to be or saying it will be, I'm just arguing for objectvity's sake). So until Bungie stops letting their child grow and sends it off, for good, to the next level of schooling (which may or may not be a good thing), canon is still set by them. And yeah, that's just my opinion and I am speaking as though I'm the authority on the matter, but until I see Bungie move on and see where Microsoft takes everything or views everything, I'm pretty much ignoring whatever is shown. Halo Wars got a lot wrong. Period. The game was fun, but I'm not debating fun. If needbe things may need to get classified as "Bungie Canon" and "Microsoft Canon" for future installments, but I think we are BUNGIE.org will know which to consider actual canon, unless 343 pulls off some pretty damn accurate stuff that doesn't appear to butcher or screw with everything. In other words, we don't need 343 retconning thousands of things to suit their purposes. I can't wait to see where they go with it, but until that time, Bungie is the authority. Sorry Ensemble.
