I agree. I checked his Read Me. To make it even odder, he wrote
"One of the most difficult levels in M1 to complete, mainly because of lacking a recharger, it is completely cleaned out."
Now why would he write that if he left that Fighter alive? I tried to think of any conceivable way he could have defeated that Fighter, jumped down, teleported, but had the film cut out enough to where we see only what we see. I don't see how right now.
