I'm not sure Durandal cared to do so anyways. It wouldn't have helped him at all, as far as I can tell. Sure he wanted the Pfhor to mess stuff up pretty bad, but it's not like the humans would've or could've responded quickly enough to change the course of events. The Pfhor would've EMP-ed the Marathon anyways, and then we'd be left with the same mess to clean up. All in all, I don't think it mattered to Durandal whether or not the Pfhor had the advantage of surprise. Sure it might've made the situation a bit worse for the humans, but he wouldn't have cared much. He'd find a way, and sure enough, he found the major flaw in the Pfhor attack; the S'pht.
