In Response To: Re: Please quit calling Bullet Spread "Bloom" (JonnyOThan) : What? I'm pretty sure this isn't true (about the DMR). I haven't looked at : the numbers, but I'd believe an empirical study if one were conducted. I've done almost all my weapon tests in Reach within a 30 meter range, so effects of shot spread are hard to notice when you're dealing with low numbers (well under one degree). However, after testing the DMR at longer ranges, you're right. At a distance of 125 meters (note: Halo 1's M6D had a cut-off range of 123 m), shot spread for paced shots can be clearly discerned. However, it is still extremely small, approximately 0.05° maximum by my estimation, which is one quarter that of the M6D's 0.2°. This is noticeable at extreme ranges but negligible at closer ranges; at 125 meters, the spread pattern is about the same size as a regulation soccer ball, while at 20 m, the spread pattern is only about the size of an Eisenhower dollar, thus explaining my assumption that the DMR has perfect accuracy when pacing your shots. At close ranges you simply can't tell. Whether or not you're zoomed in also appears to have an effect; that 0.05° figure is for when you're zoomed in, while the shot spread becomes nearly triple that when you're not zoomed in.
