In Response To: Re: Halo: Combat Evolved and Bloom (Gravemind) : Well, the Halo 1 pistol had two separate values for its shot spread: one for : when firing semi-auto, and one for when firing full-auto. When firing : full-auto, it had rate of fire-based shot spread just like any other : automatic, and the maximum shot spread was considerable (can't recall the : actual value, but it was around 1°, maybe a bit more). When firing : semi-auto, it had a flat shot spread of 0.2° regardless of whether or not : you were firing at max RoF. Actually, no. This is the point my video makes. In the 2nd of impact hits, I was releasing the trigger between shots, and yet the overall spread was fairly large. Basically, the first video that my post links to has created a lot of confusion, as many people look at it and think that Halo 1 has RoF-dependant bloom. My video tries to clear up the confusion by demonstrating that the bloom is probably trigger-pull-style-dependant and not RoF-dependant; I'm claiming that the confusion started because in Halo 1, "firing semi-automatically" can actually mean different things, and the first video doesn't take this into account. Presumably, the player in that video was firing similar to the type-2 shooting in my video.
