: I think you just hit on the problem-- it relies on chance too much. Only for an individual playthrough though. For someone who isn't going to quit campaign after doing it one or two times, and who knows how to point a rocket launcher, there would be no great problem managing to destroy all five at some point. : I was going to put something about this but I thought "nah, he's not
Might've helped if you had put something in, as your response leaves me nonplussed. I tried to make my viewpoint clear, and it wasn't about dying in real life being unpleasant and best avoided. : What exactly would you have them do instead? Your phrasing is starting to paint things the wrong way, as I was careful not to say people should play in such and such a way. People can play how they like, though they shouldn't expect me to clap when they only get through a level after being slaughtered half a dozen times (something which would merely indicate that they're playing on a difficulty level they can't yet properly cope with). But obviously I'd prefer it if the culture was more focused on getting through without dying or reverting - i.e. no break in the reality - as I see that as the more meaningful form of success. The game revolves around an imitation of reality after all, so this is the most natural goal isn't it? As for what you do if you die, if you're me you say "Aw nuts!" with optional addition cursing or growling at whatever fool mistake you made (I mean, seriously, I should not have panic-fired my blinkin' rocket launcher at that scary sword-wielding cloaked Elite at almost point blank range), and you end the mission. Cyborg dead, mission failed, hope to do better next time. Or you continue anyway for the practice, but you wouldn't take any satisfaction at the end. : I'm hinting they want them to achievable by people who are sane and have
I'll take that as a "yes" then - though I resist the vague implication that that folk who can negotiate Legendary without dying are insane or have no life. And my pet teapot Freddie resists it also.
