Re: Halo CE Anniversary achievement list!

: uberfoop: The hard part is dealing with the Grunts with fuel rod guns and the
: ones in turrets.

There's not a single FRG grunt in the level that can't be bypassed by a small touch of well-applied bipedal locomotion.

: I think it's safe to assume at least one of the skulls will require tricking
: to reach it, and probably 3 or 4 will.

Possibly. I would get a huge kick out of it if they stuck a skull in the rafters somewhere; it's not very often a game design intentionally dumps a dynamic object out of bounds.

: Quirel: You don't remember correctly, depending on the distance you're
: thinking of-- even on Legendary, at close range the shotgun still only
: takes 5, maybe 6 rounds tops to take down a Sentinel.

You don't remember correctly, either. You're on the right track in that the shotgun is effective against sentinels, but you're not even close to how effective. Close-range shotgunning against sentinels in Halo 1 is usually 2 to 3 shots, but it can be as little as a 1 shot instagib if you really lay into the poor robot.

It's not useful in circumstances like TB's opening, where the PP is really the only way to go, but if you can close in on the guys and dance to and fro from cover to cover, it chews them up pretty well.

: Serpx: Now that you mention it, I would have liked to see that, although that
: doesn't mean the vehicle itself isn't somewhere in the game... I hope it
: is.

The only issue there is where you'd put it. I mean, the game doesn't really have hidden banshees. It's possible that they could use clever object-swapping to avoid changing anything, of course; maybe, for instance, have the first AotCR platform banshee spawn as a yellow banshee, so if they player knocks it down they can use a yellow one, but make it turn into the purple banshee if it hasn't been affected by any physics by the time the elite spawns to pilot it. I'm not sure if that kind of trick would violate their "changing things" rule, but it would be one approach to sneaking such a thing in.

: alternative suggestion: Grenade Your Way Out- Finish the second interior
: section of Keyes [or some other area, I guess] using only grenades-- I've
: nearly done this several times, it's fun

That's a nice idea.
