Coping with the boredom you mean? It wouldn't be very much boredom though, so it's hard to consider that any significant challenge.

I wasn't sure what point you were getting at there, but sure you've got a good supply of sniper ammo and rockets, which is a big help (unless you forego them for added challenge of course). In Halo you've likewise got a good supply of sniper ammo, once a rifle becomes available.

I too suspected that this is why they settled on only four. However, that high Wraith isn't always problematic. You typically have the opportunity of destroying it with a few rockets while it's hanging around at the far right - though it may require a bit of patience for it to appear there. On a given playthrough it might play hard to get, but mostly you'd have a decent chance.

I'm happy for people to get a bit of encouragement with it if they need any. I already like it though. I suspect 343 may have made quite an effort to revamp the scenery in such a way that things look much less less samey as you go through it. That could go some way to making the level more enjoyable for people.

Well, I just mean failed in a reality-based sense. Let's suppose you died along the way - maybe multiple times - but carried on to the end. Ok you succeeded in the videogame sense, but your character died - which is generally considered a military failure. You broke the imitation reality by continuing regardless, so it's success on a relatively artificial level. Reverting is another reality breaker. There's significantly more meaning when you maintain the reality all the way through. I see that as the real form of 'success' for a given level, whereas muddling through with deaths or reversions is more like a training activity before stepping up to that task (or is just for a bit of casual fun - which is fine of course). The gaming community at large doesn't seem to view things that way though, and the practice of dying and continuing seems like an ingrained part of the culture. I find that a perverse norm, and it hardly does much to encourage the most skillful gameplay. But if it makes some people feel they've 'completed' a game sooner, I guess the developers like it, because those people might buy a new game quicker!

Are you hinting that developers generally want most achievements to be reasonably achievable by the majority of casual players? I'm asking as I'm not familiar with the standards, and don't play many other games (or pay attention to achievements).
