In Response To: Re: MMO I'm fine with, it's Activision that worrie (gspawn) : I think we know. And I'm pretty pissed. You know? Awesome. Pray, tell, I would love to avail myself of your wisdom. : I want a big space-roaming sandbox to play in, and I hope Aerospace does it.

Yeah, I know, but the Microsoft days are over, remember? Oh, wait... I see what you did there. They just so happen to pair with a company that has come
Every company wants that. Activision just happens to have an arrogant, guileless CEO who likes making ink by telling people what he's actually thinking, but his thoughts really aren't that much different from anyone else's in his position. Yes, he's a bit nuts-- but I also think that is not particularly rare. : They're probably going multiplatform, which means easy profits but a much
Having more or less successfully gone from Mac only, to cross-platform Mac/PC, to Xbox exclusive, somehow I think they can handle it. (I won't mention the Myth II installer bug if you don't. Oops.) Assuming this is going to be on the Xbox at all, they've been working with that platform for a decade now, so I tend to think the Xbox version will probably turn out OK, as they are pretty familiar with it. If they opt to go back to the Mac... well, the Mac has changed a lot since they left, but I still think they'll be OK. If it's on Windows and PlayStation only... then I may not ever know, because I think I may be done buying into new platforms just to play a Bungie game. We'll see, maybe I'll change my mind when we know more about what this actually is. : Many roads lead to fail with this one. I don't yet see one leading to win. When you start at square one with the index card that says "think of an idea for a game" there are infinitely more roads that lead to failure than lead to success. Bungie finds its way to success more consistently than most. In my mind, there are many, many fewer things to worry about with Activision than there were with the Microsoft acquisition. It's just a publishing deal, and just for a single property that Bungie is retaining ownership of. If Frankie were here, I think he'd say... Relax.
