I've never played an "MMO", mainly because I've never had the time or the hardware, but I'm intrigued to try it out. Having only got my hands on Reach a couple of weeks ago I'm so so impressed with all the online features - MM, FF, Forge, Theatre, fileshares, stats etc etc and, at just how much FUN Reach is online. I know a lot of people have issues with it for various reasons, but if you're able to stop obsessing about cR and rank (which I'm finding hardwork!), the design, maps and gametypes are a tonne of FUN. I guess my point would be that if you look at Bungie's amazing innovation and solid implementation of online features (H2 - Matchmaking, H3 - Forge and Theatre, Reach - everything totally slick, and really well designed to eliminate griefers - see the post a couple of days ago on this, forgot who it was?) it makes me pretty confident that whatever they do next will continue that trend of goodness. RE Subscription - I'm not aware of another console game that currently charges a subscription or one that has done so and not failed miserably (DC Phantasy Star Online - I'm looking at you) and as the title is expected to be cross platform getting Sony and MS to agree on a pricing structure when they'd be much keener to undercut their rivals seems unlikely. I'm sure 'microtransactions' will be involved, but subscriptions? Unlikely.
