In Response To: Re: Where was wars then? (Bry) It's sad to see so much discontent over the nature of the Reach footage during the VGA show. All this discussion over Microsoft, Bungie's obligations, payments et all is so far removed from what this thing is all about, from the way I see it. The VGA Awards are both a celebratory and advertising opportunity. As gamer's, we get to see the games we love get rewarded, we have a chance to nominate and vote and be a part of it. The games up for the awards are already out, we are playing them and awards shows like this give us the opportunity, via voting, to give some accolades back to the developers and publishers of those games and the hard work they put into them. On the flip side, the awards are a brilliant chance for the advertising of new games. There will be many new trailers of upcoming games at the show, not just Halo Reach. Obviously other developers and publishers see this as a great chance to get their games out to a vast audience. Now, I'm not a regularly viewer of the VGA awards, I usually hang back and watch all new games videos on Gametrailers and other places after the shows and read up on the Award winners in the expected NeoGAF thread. This year however, with the inclusion of Halo Reach, I've finally decided to try to see if I can watch it Live. I'm mildly interested to see which games win which awards, I definitely want to see all the exciting new trailers and game footage available and the Halo Reach footage is just unmissable for me. This is a great thing for everyone, gamers, publishers, developers and Spike/VGA folks. Everyone wins. I may be a huge Halo/Bungie fan, but I'm also a gamer and play other games and this year's VGA show is just too good to pass up. Now, to find out if I can get a good HD stream from the UK...
