Well, you'd imagine there would perhaps be performance bonuses if the game does well, but then again Bungie is independent now. They weren't before. It goes both ways. A game can bomb just like a movie, and its driven studios to close, so you have to imagine almost all the money comes from sales rather than providing hype (other wise, you'd think Duke Nukem Forever would still be going, heh) Except in the form that Narc said. Making efforts to increase the sales by increasing awareness in turn increases the income.
