Besides this, there is much redundancy: the carbine and BR fill : almost identicall roles equally well, neither sniper rifle strongly : distinguishes itself from it's competitor... : In my humble oppinion, the series is, somewhat disturbingly, trending towards : the mindless frag-festival-in-an-arena-of-death genre of games, like Quake : 3, and away from the more strategic, higher-level games, like DoD or CS. : So, if you'de like a suggestion rather than a Kerry-Esque gripe list, I'd : like to see elements of tactic and spetialization recieve more attention, : and death-match style themes like map exploitation or weapon : monopolization minimized. Heh, I like your list of 'strong' guns. The AR was useless in MP. The PR was almost as bad (not too bad in CTF or oddball, to slow the guy down). The PP, near useless. Only the Sniper Rifle, Shotgun and Rocket Launcher would ever had an advantge over the pistol at any given time. You ALWAYS carried a pistol as your main gun, then one of those three depending on your situation. And for the guy above the guy I'm replying to, frags are still good. Just, not as good. But they do have a new strong trait over Halo 1. The can explode while still in motion. So what? Two quick grenades can give an easy double or triple kill. Need to bounce a greande around a corner? Or up ramp? I'm gotten kills with an SMG and a frag grenade against a RL and a Sawrd before (but not at the same time, of course). I saw him first, but he fired first (I was too far to rick firing an SMG). Some lucky jumps later, and he's dead. And he's just as skilled as I am. Plasma greandes are great, I don't think anybody is compaining about them (they're only good is you stick them, but that just a skill, rewarding good players). I don't think anybody hates them, i ithnk it's just the frag that's underappreciated.
