Heh, all I can say is anyone who says such things (which I hear quite frequently, don't take this as a personal attack, I've just seen it too many times and it's SOOO untrue that I can't let it pass) invariably falls into one of the following categories: 1) has never played Q3, so has no idea what they're talking about. 2) has never played Q3, AND has a massive irrational pre-existing anti-id bias, and thus has an agenda for saying so. 3) has never played UT let alone Q3, so REALLY has no idea what they're talking about. 4) is completely blind and/or has no taste. (This last of course would just be my opinion, but I'd be able to apply it quite reliably to any aesthetic judgement--if that person said something was great, I'd know it was actually something really horrible and ugly and poor quality, and if they said it was lousy, I'd know it was actually something incredibly gorgeous.) The Q3 player models and animations, and ESPECIALLY the skins are just in a completely different class from the UT models and skins. UT's are positively amateur looking compared to id's incredible works of art. And the variety of Q3's skins and models is far greater than what UT has to offer (which only amounts to variations on the same tall, dark, handsome, built-yet-slender caucasian male model, other than a few females, one or two with afro skins, and a couple who are wearing spacesuits or futuristic armor or whatever).
