Too complicated? I disagree. The general concept is simple, even if it would take 1000 physicists 1000 years to explain the underlying Physics.
The best thing about is it is complicated and twisted enough to fit. In fact, I would expect (require?) nothing less grand.
Here's what Bungie does pretty well: they let people obsess about the things they want to obsess about. Meaning, story junkies can pursue this to all ends; explorers/trickers can trick to their hearts content; MP studs can play online all day and never know who Truth, Mercy, and Regret are, much less that there is a covenant.
So to me, a story "archeologist", this would be exactly what I'm looking for: a relic to unearth. The story is an onion, and each layer leads...somwhere else.
But, you like it if you like it. I agree with Quantum - this is the basis for my new paradigm and I will go in search of supporting/contrasting evidence.
Call me a Reidite or a Durandallion. I am a true believer. Can I get an AMEN?!?
