In Response To: The state of the community. (Ross Mills [subnova]) I was thinking the same thing rather recently. When Halo was young, and a bunch of great speculation was abound. Nobody really knew what would happen after Halo, or even before the Fall of Reach. Speculation on the books was common, and even quoted at times. A year ago, Enkidu showed up - great piece of fan work by Anton P. Nym. Times when people like Hawk and rets posted a bunch and Frensa Geran stopped in more often than usual. Even mnemesis would peek out of whatever hole he's in to offer his 2 cents (btw, Ringworld was awesome, and StarHammer is amazing). I haven't seen BreakPoint post here in ages. Or Dogsounds. "Guy who doesn't post....too often" hasn't been seen this year at all. Even Louis Wu wasn't too well known back then. At least I thought he was some lurker with power on this forum, until I learned he was the webmaster. Sorry to start listing names, but yeah. I agree, but I'm not whining. There were times when I was very big at spamming the Forums, and now I leveled off a bit at a sporadic number of posts a day... or week. Also, I find it interesting how I think that there isn't much to comment about Halo 2's storyline and all that until we see either an ending to the story of a 3rd installment. There's definitely a bunch of old people no longer around. And not to sound elitist (which btw, I ran into a fan on AIM and said he disliked this forum because of the "elitist nature" - "nah," I said, "You just got to get used to them first."), but I'm having a harder time trying to relate to the recently new regulars of the Forum. Good lord, I'm turning 18 soon and I sound like an old fart at times! But yeah, #hbo has a bunch of guys there that are up your alley in who you are looking for. Dunno why they want to spend time there, but ok... *Grey's mother thinks he is an old fart - she said she'd trade him in for a new "him" because of the rate of weathering on his bones and muscles (what four sports and just about a dozen water and boating sports/activities would produce).* | |
