Anyway, I, too, believe that the forum seems to be slipping, but I see it as a natural progression and have faith that the Golden Age will return. Basically, no one except truly hardcore fans of Halo 1 were here, and theorizing every sentence with every ounce of thought required. Then, Halo 2 came. Now, what I think is that Multiplayer, although very cool and entertaining, is...just that, very cool and entertaining. It's all about doing cool stuff...not a lot of thought required (unless you make a job of it, which at least 100,000 people don't). The people who play Campaign play it to learn and re-learn, and look for tiny tidbits and expand on them. What happened, with the Campaign being a little less than expected (or, at least came up slightly short in the theory department, in this writer's opinion), and with multiplayer being a huge hit, multiplayer people went onto Bungie.net, which had a links page and such and somehow, people who visited the site enough, got to here. Some of them just read, a few try to get into the community, and others just posted the most retarded crap I've ever seen. With Campaign being pretty well thought out and searched, it came down to us talking about multiplayer, which leads to big arguements of, "Join my clan, or else ur a noob." "Not-uh, the Khaotic Penguins will so pwn the Chain-Saw Kids." And so on, and so forth. The "old timers" saw the sudden influx of most likely 10 year old kids who had learned a new swear word, and decided to skim over posts instead of reading them, and perhaps missed a few good ones, while commenting on trolls who should be ignored. I see the future, and it will go like this: People will continue to argue about maps and such over the summer, eventually they will either lose interest or become serious, and they will have turned their attention to the new Xbox and spam any Xbox forums, and they will leave, allowing "old-timers" to look over the campaign with this new sense of space, and we'll get back to the good-old days. Now, I'm not saying I hate 10-year olds, and that everybody under 15 is a jackass, I'm just saying that I dislike anyone who decides to raid our forum with insults and topics that show why American IQ's are ranked below that of Madagascar (which looks like a funny movie). Time heals all wounds, and, yes, that applies to a Halo forum. Also, schools and colleges are coming to a climax with finals, so the forum may seem a little bare right now, but wait until schools are out. -It may take a little bit of effort and patience to get out of this recession, but I have faith that all Halo fans are truly good at heart. -Steve
