In Response To: you're not the only ones that got hit (synide) You gotta love how the "pros" are always better players, were more affected by the differences between halo and halo 2, and somehow have always got one up on you. Man, do I love that superior attitude. "Screwed over?" Please. See Mig's post way above. If you don't adapt, you die in one way or another. Same goes for games you love and their sequels. As for the community here itself, I'd say there's been a degradation in the signal to noise ratio, but not so much that its insufferable. I wouldn't say anything like "the golden age is over". There are some of us, me included, that felt more in-tune with Bungie's older games, and just less so with Halo 2. At the same time, as is the case with most significant releases, there was an influx of new blood into the community as Halo 2 hit the scene, and some older contributors faded out. Now, I personally think that we got less of what makes this community so great in this last infusion than we normally would have; but seeing as how I was a free-radical Bungie fan of six years or so, up until about six months after Halo came out and THEN found HBO, I probably don't have the greatest basis for measurement as far as this partiular section of the fanbase is concerned. Still, I do agree that there seems to be a lull, at least in the things that usually draw me here, but I don't think its anything to worry about. The things I miss are the things like the Enkidu terminals or ILB, or the rampant speculation on what will happen next in the Halo storyline. Seeing the community work together to unravel those mysteries is what its all about for me. But at this point, I feel like most of us pretty much know what to expect next in the Halo story, and are just waiting to see it happen. It's kind of like how I felt waiting for this last installment of Star Wars. You already know what's to come, you just want to see it, there's no more mystery to uncover. But maybe that's just me. For the meantime I'm content to sit and wait, there's no need to lament, these things just come and go. ~Ma1
