(Ross Mills [subnova]) I can't really speak to the current level of discussion on the forum, but if you say it's deteriorated, then I'll take your word for it. However, it does kinda make sense for things to be as you say they are. The problem is we've really got nothing to talk about. We talked out the Deuce a few months ago, and there's really not much to say about Halo the Third just yet. Here's my theory: When a forum starts going down, the smart ones begin to bail. This creates an intelligence vacuum which is quickly filled by the riff-raff; the common idiots. Now, these common idiots that rush to fill the space left by the smart ones have had no other experience at the board than that which they currently enjoy. Being idiots, they can't imagine anything better than babbling back and forth about "faggot" this and "asshole" that and "MC r0x0rs!!" and all, therefore they continue to say these things. To be sure, some of them were around back in the "Golden Days" when the smart ones were still posting. However those days become foggier and foggier with the passing of time and the accumulation of idiocy, which like the smoke that bellowed from the factories of industrial era England, can besmirch a forum to the point where it is no longer recognizable. And much like the fabled moth, those few smarties which still remain simply can't cope with the new environment and die out leaving only the idiots which have become well adapted to surviving the conditions of the changed forum. And so, to combat this "fall" I suggest that you get all your old regulars, your intelligent types, and, with the rallying call of "Conserva Forum Nostri", wash away the deeply ingrained layers of idiocy with your combined powers of wit and intelligent discussion.
