True, Bungie, in their own words, balanced the weapons so that none was bettr than the other. All the weapons in Halo are simply more effective than others in certian situations. "Man I wish i had this gun or that," is a common thought. Taking a Sniper Rifile and Pistol into confined spaces where people tote around Shotguns is not a good way to win. For indoor maps I suggest that you keep the two most effective close range guns that you are good with, me its Shotgun and AR (AR for melee and pure annoyance). For outdoor maps, unless you're absolutely positive that you wont get into close quarters fighting, the Sniper and Pistol are an excellent team. Also if you dont know what you're going to encounter it may be better to take 1 long range gun and 1 short range gun with you. On Sidewinder CTF I carry 3 combos. Sniper and Rocket, for enemies, vehicles and anyone I meet up on the hills. Pistol and Shotgun I carry when running for the enemy flag, pick em off at a distance allowing you to close in w/o getting shot and once you're there the shotgun will suit your close range needs perfectly. I also carry the AR and Shotgun (Sometimes switch AR for Rocket depending on if theres alotta vehicles) when guarding my base from the inside. But, this is just Sidewinder CTF and my choice combos. Just use whatever guns make you come out on top. «Supernova» |
