In Response To: Halo PC Strategy Guide "Weapon Gamer Tips" -> (Doug Radcliffe) These tips are probably common knowledge to many Halo fans, but I'll go ahead and post them. * Conserve overcharged bolts for Jackals and Elites; use regular shots for other enemies/vehicles. The overcharged bolts use unneccessary energy on Grunts/Wraiths/Flood, doing little extra damage. * If possible, always try to line up multiple Covies when sniping; that single shell can take out several enemies at once. Use something else on the Flood, though. * Use human weapons on Covenant vehicles for quicker kills. The pistol is surprisingly quite powerful on Banshees. * Unless they are your absolute last resort, stow the Assault Rifle, Shotgun, and (sometimes) Needler when trying to down Elites/Jackals at longer ranges. These weapons either have very poor accuracy, or are easily evaded by nimble enemies at long range. Use a pistol, PP, PR, or Sniper. * Though it is sort of mission specific, this can be viewed as weapon use, also. On the Cartographer level, try getting one Marine in a 'Hog LAAG, and another Marine in another 'Hog LAAG, then strategically positioning them so your enemies are quickly shredded in the crossfire. This makes quick work of just about any enemy, and you get to sit back with your feet up while your Marines do the shooting for you. * With a Sniper, aim at a Jackal's pistol or head; these are almost always instant kills. Also, always aim at any Covenant soldier's head when sniping (except, of course, a Hunter; aim for that orange back!). * Use a Needler at medium/long range when little/no cover is available to the enemy. At longer ranges, some Covenant can evade the needles by utilizing cover. The Needler is not the best close-range weapon, either; the needles don't always turn quickly enough for nimble enemies. And always use at least half a clip to make sure that deadly explosion occurs; single needles often do very little damage. * Don't bother trying to run over enemies with a Ghost; even though THEY can kill YOU by running you over, the reverse is not true. But with the 'Hog, Scorpion, and Banshee ... slam on the gas!! * Always crouch when falling or when trying to get up on high structures. Falling and crouching right before you land reduces a LOT of damage, and crouching in mid air draws up Master Chief's legs, allowing you to make very high and unlikely jumps to hard-to-reach places. * Fragmentation grenades are best against the Flood, for the grenades will explode as soon as they settle to the ground. Flood often charge right past plasma grenades with those 3-second fuses, unless you seriously lead them. Hope these help!
