In Response To: Re: the 2 best weapons for legendary (FearThePyro) my friend and i had the challenge to see who could beat legendary in single player first. me being the anal retentive bastitch for details that i am, i headed out for the library, as it has all the weapons, to see how best to deal with the flood. my results are as follows: shotgun slaughters anything...doesn't even have to be dead center--but we all knew that already. check this scheisce out...every other version of the flood has a 'kill zone' when it comes to the human handgun. (hence my reason for posting this one) human converted flood: shoot the upper arm almost near the shoulder once on each side...the flood will still be alive but literally can't attack you. it'll spend it's time walking toward you until it can't walk n'more (closer, that is) why would you want it to be alive and walking towards you? the phrases flesh shield and melee protection come to mind. most flood try to melee you when you get close...they can't if something's blocking their way, can they?? elite converted flood: shoot their right knee joint only once and their done for...no getting back up--pistol only...assault rifle and sniper rifle do not incur the one hit kill. sorry, no flesh shield yet for these guys that i've found. if you don't like aiming low, 3 shots center mass will take them down for good too...like any good fps player, you should always keep mental track of how many rounds reside in each mob's innards...i say this because 2 might take them down, based on how off center, the third will finish them--third shot can be on the ground. grunt converted flood: the 'pregnant potatoes' are best dealt with by lodging two rounds anywhere in their bloated torso and zooming out to watch the satisfying green mist puff out as the nearby flood go zooming through the air and smack into walls. normal flood (annoying little swarmy thingies): any type of melee hit works best...for extremely large quantities, fire a single bullet into the crowd...let them have their own little chain reactions between themselves--rinse, repeat as necessary. a fun little show-offerific way to deal with a mid to large group is to throw a frag grenade ahead of you and run right over top of it stopping right outside the blast radius to turn your spartan around to watch while you go grab a new bag of hot fries, etc. in the end though, use what you're best with and you should come out fine...legendary is not nearly as hard as everyone thinks. hoping squishqueue approves of this one;
