In Response To: Halo PC Strategy Guide "Weapon Gamer Tips" -> (Doug Radcliffe) In my opinion, the best weapons are assault rifles, pistols, and plasma grenades. Assault rifles are good for taking on large forces of enemies, whether it be Covenant, Flood or Spartan. They provide a wide barrage of bullets when you swing it around on a squad of enemies. And, if you're daring enough, you can defeat Banshees as they dive down on you. Pistols work very well alongside assault rifles. Though it is usually used as a backup weapon, pistols are excellent for head shots if you have good aim. A good technique is to use a full clip from the rifle on an enemy's shields, then take a few shots at it (preferably to the head) to bring them down. Plasma grenades are slightly flawed but good explosives nonetheless. Usually, you should stick these on vehicles trying to run you over, say, a Warthog. When the grenade explodes, it causes significant damage to the passenger(s) and may even cause the Warthog to flip over, sometimes crushing those beneath. Plasma grenades are good in single player when you sneak up on enemies; you should immediately stick one on a Grunt. When the Grunt flips out, most of the time he'll run back to its commanding Elite and most of the squad. You should never use plasma grenades on Flood Infection forms or psychotic Elites unless you're a healthy distance away; they'll run right at you. My most favorite tactic with the plasma grenade is on the first bridge in Assault On The Control Room, where the glass is breakable and you're about to face off against the sword-toting Elite. You stick the grenade onto the alien, then run back to the glass. Then you immediately shoot out the glass and dive down. You look up to see an electric-blue explosion of the Elite! An even trickier move is the shoot the glass out underneath the Elite's feet instead. | |
