: example: on "Truth and Reconciliation" when you enter the Covenant

: But Golden Elites have the strongest shields in the game, but a charged
: plasma shot can instantly drop their shields leaving enough time to take
: them out with rapid fire. I have found that that strategy has saved
: countless marines and myself in most cases, not to mention that this is
: the most avaible weapon in the game.

: Plus the fact that it has the fastest mellee in the game doesn't hurt it

: The handgun would be an obvious answer, 12 explosive tipped bullets and a
: headshot is always garunteed an instant kill (drop an elites shields
: first).

: The scope is one of the best parts about this weapon, as I have been able to
: take down every enemy and covenant veichles with this. This weapon is good
: in almost any situation, even overshields in multiplayer beg mercy.

: I do have 2 tips for this weapon though: if enemies are running at a distance
: laterally then you must shoot a little bit ahead of time. I also
: reccommend vidding the trigger, meaning not holding it down but squeezing
: the trigger for each bullet (it improves the accuracy), I only reccomend
: holding it down for close range.

: If you find this weapon pick it up immedietly, the only downside I have found
: with it is its slow melee. This weapon even works well against the flood,
: 6 bullets per enemy, but the scope helps take them out before they can get
: to you. And if you haven't found out already a shot to an orange part of a
: hunter will ensure an instant kill.

: I can't really reccommend much more for these weapons other than rely on your
: insticts and always take cover.

I think i'll stick with the shotgun when encountering the Flood. They have this nasty habit of swarming players and the most effective method of getting rid of them is 1 shotgun shell dead center, 1 hit kill on any difficulty. The only drawback with the shotgun is that against the Flood, ammo gets used up fast and is sometimes hard to find in certian areas of the game. Pistol is my 2nd choice for dealing with the Flood as it is effictive enough when used properly.
