In Response To: Re: the 2 best weapons for legendary (Supernova) : I think i'll stick with the shotgun when encountering the Flood. They have : this nasty habit of swarming players and the most effective method of : getting rid of them is 1 shotgun shell dead center, 1 hit kill on any : difficulty. The only drawback with the shotgun is that against the Flood, : ammo gets used up fast and is sometimes hard to find in certian areas of : the game. Pistol is my 2nd choice for dealing with the Flood as it is : effictive enough when used properly. Well while I have played on Legendary, I have to agree, the pistol is a must for taking out grunts fast, because at times there can be soo many that their puny needlers can take your shield off at an instant and kill you in the next moment. The Plasma pistol, is one of those "1 size fits all" kinda weapons, they can kill elites (not as easy in legendary), take out shields of jakals, kill grunts, so it makes it an effective killing weapon, but it never hurts to grab a plasma rifle once and a while. While on the Truth and Recon. level, I would advice using the sniper rifle as long as you can, becasue once you get into the ship, you will need to take out elites fast or your head will be looking great as a hood orniment to the ship, also when facing hunters, aim for their gut, because when they move their shield, some orange flesh should show, take a shot and they are history. When fighting Flood, it comes to a different point, I use the AR and Shotgun, the pistol is too much of a presice weapon, you need the shotgun to blow teh big guys down and the AR to rid yourself of the baby flood, as I like to call them. - The Rocket Launcher and sniper rifle have their places in the game, I would not mind departing with them dearly, but the Needler is effective in some places, IE: a bunch of elites are near you, and there are a few plasma grenades next ot them, unload a full clip on the closest elite to the grenades, when he dies and the needles blow up, that should set off the plasma grenades, eliminating your foe without a sweat, just dont get too close.
