Technically it wasn't a trap but her msg would be easy to understand and would make them back off. But the clumsy story needed to have a threat to force the pair to release Didact. Did anyone here ever buy the technobabble reasons why we had to press the buttons in the core? It was obviously a setup and I was never convinced that I wasn't being set up.
