Not exactly. If you recall, the whole point of the ground teams was to disable the guns before they could engage Infinity. The ship itself was never fired upon by those guns. As for advance recon, this is a bit of a sticking point. Simply because it suggests we usually do have that. Most of the intel we are provided in the Halo games comes from Cortana (and in some cases 343GS) in real-time as she finds things. Playing H4, I never felt worse off than in any game previously. So it just felt like a really misplaced little exchange. A lackluster effort to say "Oh, this is baaaad. We never ever do this!"
