I : haven't played Sp Ops yet, but there is little to no mention in the : campaign of the fact that Infinity was caught because they detected : Cortana's signal. In the middle of Forerunner, as you're about to disable the first tower, Cortana flips out when she hears one of the Infinity's messages talking about the Forward Unto Dawn, and they realize that Infinite is tracking the distress signal (which was itself a major point set up in Halo 3). The entire rest of the level is spent trying to warn Infinity to not follow you into the gravity well. >> (From Halopedia): John-117: "Did he say Forward Unto Dawn?" Cortana: "They must have intercepted our distress beacon!" John-117: "The beacon was pulled into Requiem with us. If they try to follow it..." Cortana: "...they'll get caught in the gravity well. I'll keep trying to warn them; you just get that beam down!"
