In Response To: I enjoyed him (serpx) : I loved the tension between Del and Chief. Without Del's : personality, I feel that moment wouldve been lost. Seems to me that it only qualifies as tension if Del Rio serves as an actual impediment to the hero's quest. He gives direct orders to arrest Master Chief and have Cortana seized for deletion. Instead, Lasky gives you a fully loaded gunship and all the Marines salute you on the way out. What happens when you get back to Earth? You find out Del Rio was sacked for gross incompetence. His own crew ignores him. His superiors replaced him at the first opportunity. He might as well not even exist. Now imagine if Ackerson was still alive and had been given command of the Infinity. THAT would have been really interesting.
