Okay, I'll take that into account. The ship thing I wanted to be with preexisting ships, because I had seen so many of them and wondered what they would look like if illustrated in more detail. But I think working in a 'free' round after the 'misc' round might be a good idea and help to appeal to anyone who doesn't like the fictional constraints as much. I don't want to destroy the original purpose of this contest so I'm not going to remove the constraints altogether. I'll loosen up on adherence to them in terms of requiring it for submission and just strongly encourage it, as suggested. But then I'll do an all out free round after a few of the 'canon' ones. Thanks for the thoughts guys. I think every suggestion helps to make this more fun for everyone. :)
