Or they are the same ship, but much larger than the playable areas-- large enough to contain the playable areas of both levels without any conflicts. There's no problem with similar, overlapping, but not identical corridors, hangars, and brigs. About the only real conflict would be with the command center. If there's a backup for that, then there aren't really any conflicts. It does make me wonder, though, about how much simpler the layout of the Covenant ship is in Reach.
