I enjoy debating canon and speculation and all that jazz, and if I think the story isn't fitting with my perception of the universe I do struggle a bit with the game (it's part of why I don't really like Halo 3 I've decided. It may be silly to most people, but I think the Covenant were seriously shortchanged in their story and it just bugs me. There are other reasons I don't like Halo 3 but that one's definitely up there).

On the one hand, I'm perfectly capable of saying "hey it's just a game, I'll just enjoy the playthrough" but what I really loved about Halo was the story and the situation the Chief and the Arbiter were in. So on the other hand, this stuff is important to me to truly enjoy a game. Or any piece of fiction really.
