It would seem to imply that you think any interrogation of a female by a male is a kind of rape. And certainly I think to apply this to the Cortana level in H3 is taking things too far. I think it does say something, if not about you then perhaps the way the mass media hype up the situation. If I'd said "when I start reading about a theft, I immediately worry about whether the victims were murdered", people would likely mention that this is a pretty unfounded worry, since the amount of murders that occur during a robbery is a tiny fraction of the robberies that take place. Yet to continue the analogy, you seem to expect all people to be murdered during a robbery, which does not come remotely close to actuality. : Complaining because
That's not what people are complaining about at all. There are entirely valid arguments about the way women are portrayed in the various forms of media, just as there are valid arguments about the way men are portrayed. These arguments stand on their own because they are based on well-reasoned points. This piece on the other hand does not. It's an author that goes out of her way to be offended by giving the topic minimal thought, cherry picking stuff which is then twisted in to being some form of sexism, and ignoring anything that contradicts this or any alternative explanation. Any perceived slight is attributed to the fact that Dare's character is female. Not because she's an outsider, who makes some questionable decisions, or any of the other factors about the situation or characters that are established. Any weakness is not a character flaw, but because she's female. The author frankly, goes out of their way to be offended and I've seen such an attitude before. The arguments don't deserve respect because they are stupid, illogical arguments which do not stand up, with very minor exceptions. Are there valid concerns about the way women are portrayed by the games industry? Absolutely. But this article is simply angry illogical and mostly baseless ranting and it deserves to be criticised on those grounds.
