In Response To: Re: Hah. (kr-1426) : The Covenant has at least three races that likely had their own stellar : empires in the Elites, Jackals, and Prophets. Add to that the fact that : Grunts reproduce very quickly, with the same probably true for Drones, and : that makes for a potentially huge population for the entire Covenant. (I apologize for my mis-counted zeroes) The Prophets own one world-ship. High Charity was their entire population base. As for the others, I have reason to believe that there are few worlds actually populated by the Covenant - thus far, none of the Grunts in the novels (unless there's something I don't know about Contact Harvest) have mused about being born off-world, they always talk/think about the same methane-filled iceball. The Elites, I can see as having more worlds. The Hunters couldn't even get off of their world without the Covenant's help, the drones don't really seem very industrious on their own, the Brutes are noted as having blasted themselves back into the stone-age somewhat recently, and the Jackals, like the Drones, don't seem as though they've been widespread. I'm not disputing the fact that the Covenant armada is larger than the UNSC's, I'm just finding it difficult to believe that Humanity has expanded across however-many-hundreds of worlds.
