Why I've lost faith in Bungie and the Halo film

Don't get me wrong, I love those bastards with a passion. However, in light of recent media, I can't help but doubt their judgment now. Why? All other video game films have sucked. They just did. When Bungie said they'd be part of the production process of the film, my fears were extinguished: who better to create a Halo film than the creators of Halo themselves? Enter the Halo Graphic Novel. I'm not exagerating when I say I rolled my eyes at a lot of the dialogue in Last Flight of the Infinite Succor. Furthermore, the canon-fucking Maria-062. Whether or not her "family" story is a coverup for some uber-secret mission, it's just unreasonable: like said by many, it's out of character and just defies logic; the UNSC wouldn't let one of their most vital weapons leave on such a whim. Not to mention, what man (or woman, for all I know) would take Maria? Unless she's seeing an NBA player, that's also a bit of a stretch. And now, Halo Wars. Disregarding the uncreative title, the last lines still get to me. "If they want war, we'll give 'em war." Just awful. My point in using these two as examples? Bungie advised these things. As in, they let such blemishes on the Halo universe fall into the final product. So who knows how the Halo movie, or even Halo 3 will turn out. On another note, I'm mostly looking forward to Halo 3. Halo Wars and the other secret Halo project mostly come off as things that will attract even more idiotic "fans." You know what I'm talking about. The kind with wishlists that include such brilliance as dual-wieldable shotguns. Really, the concept of Halo Wars, an RTS based on Halo with genius writing along the lines of "We'll give 'em war!" sounds a lot like something one of such people would propose. Usually, I would just pass it off, not wasting my time in telling the fool at how unlikely an idea it was and how bad of a line that is. Guess I was wrong to trust Bungie. Prove me wrong, guys. Please.
