we know where chiefs suit derives it's power from, the fusion pack in the back. as for Sparky the Annoyance, my guess would be along the lines of yours. And it is very easily done, considering that we can already wirelessly transmit power (here and now). Perhaps if you haven't heard of this, take a look into what is known as a 'charger pad.' The concept (and whatever has been built, i think they may have it in production) sends power in the form of microwaves, which the reciever transforms into power. And if you still are sceptical, an active ping from a submarines sonar can blast over 1000 kilowatts of energy into the water, all in less then a second. If this could be harnessed, then it could very easily create a large amount of power on the recieveing end. Just my two bits!
