I don't understand what you mean by the halo marines being more "advanced" cyborgs then the marathon one. I believe the marathon one was create with jiaro technology, and if halo takes places between marathon 1 and 2, does that mean human technology has advanced beyond jiaro tech in such a short period of time?

I think the halo marines are probably human attempts to recreate what they did with the jiaro technology. Almost as strong, almost as accurate, but with some flaws still. Otherwise have 800 replicas of the Mjolnir cyborg would probably lead to some one sided battles for the humans.
