Well, here's something... I believe it was nate who said there were 800 cyborgs. I may be wrong. However, Bungie wants to keep this as secret as possible... to the point of not even releasing widely known info. That and they can change it at any time.
The VERY FIRST OPENING PAGE for halo.bungie.com SAID cyborg. Now, we have seen that all the marines look identical. Not too big a leap.
Just stop thinking about it so much. Your information (and everyone's) is out of date, if not wholly innaccurate. Bungie will reveal it in time. Have some faith that they will make everything fit into a finely crafted story. I read all of Hamish Sinclair's Marathon site. Bungie is good at this stuff. Let them think about it :)
