In a more random universe, where things dont follow set rules, it could have pulsed, expanding and contracting whenever it wanted to, and eventually closed accidentally. Anything could happen, ANYTHING. Think about this, what about a universe where there was far more mass, but less energy. Such a universe would surely collapse, but then, when it reorganized itself, it converted some of the mass to energy, and now we have a universe that wont collapse. If you know about matter/anti-matter, this is familiar. 2 pockets of matter, one normal, one anti matter, collide, and energy is released in huge amounts....anyway, i digress.... .:Magh Tuireadh
