I suppose. I'm not an awards committee, though, just a consumer, and MS already has my Xbox money :)

Of course, Apple gets my computing money, which is generally worth a lot more, so I figure if there's a moral responsibility in there somewhere I'm balancing things out.

True... but to MS... that's literally peanuts. And of course, part of that first year's fee has to cover:

- the first game, which you get for free
- the voice communiator hardware

And then there's the costs to MS associated with running the server

MS pricing on the console itself might not *seem* terribly aggressive, but it looks to me that the pricing on the online side is-- considering that there are online PC games with *monthly* fees which make them at least twice as expensive to play than Xbox Live-- and that's for only one game!

Could be. I, for one, will be quite gratified if, through Xbox Live, we eventually get something out of the Halo franchise that more closely resembles the original vision as outlined in the MWNY99 press release.
