Playballing the Oddball resets it to one point and you know where it's going to be at. And using the playball tactic is beneficial for this reason if you can communicate and time it correctly with your teammates to be ready for that respawn. Chucking it at random, preferably toward your own spawn points or base depending on how the spawn system works in H4, is benefiting you and your team strictly as opposed to having the ball pop up in its designated spawn where everyone knows where it's going and people on the opposite team who may be nearby could disrupt the playball plan.

I'm not disagreeing that both are competitive, but at least one guarantees that it's going back to the same spot. Here we're injecting more of that random element that 343 Industries seems to want to add into Halo, where as players learn the maps and spawns and if bases count for anything, they can prioritize that ball toward a spawn shift at any time so that they can possibly recover it the moment they respawn.

That was never my intent, and sorry to anyone who's been offended, though in the previous response to Beckx I was absolutely frustrated when replying. My entire response to why a football comparison doesn't work and my opinions on why tossing the Oddball does more bad than good were completely disregarded in an attempt to make sure I was getting the rules of football right, and I responded in kind saying that the original point didn't matter to me because apparently my original point was being disregarded as well. And yep, I came off as a jerk.
