It's funny to me that flag-juggling is being cited as one of the reasons for the elimination of carry-control. Though I have of course encountered it in various installments of Halo never has it been a true issue for me. That is to say that it hasn't happened so much as to be annoying, saying nothing of game-breaking.

This is my own personal stance but when I play CTF and I get the flag, I'm a carrier till the bitter end. Almost never do I (again personally) drop the flag for any reason. Much less for some negligible speed boost.

No, for me CTF has always been about strategy over running and gunning. Knowing where the enemy is and using that to your advantage. Me and friends have pulled off some really sneaky stuff simply by hiding, and making the opposing team think we've left the base already. Doing so cleared the way and allowed for the rest of the team to arrive en masse with vehicles for transport.

Like many here I hope to high hrothgar that these changes make CTF more fun. But truthfully, based on what I've seen, they won't. An entire methodology of playing the game has (apparently) been given the ax, shaft, and then the finger. All in the favor of speed, and the cliched "appeal to casuals".

(that is so funny to me to actually read, I don't really consider myself a hardcore gamer, just one who enjoys gaming. But to hear the word 'casual' bandied about so much it's almost like they're baiting long-time Halo fans. Daring us to speak up, just so they can jeer with a "U MAD BRO?")

*sigh*
