In Response To: Schooly D's PAX 2012 Rap-up (Schooly D) : whenever you do : anything (not an exaggeration) in-game, you will be seeing text pop up : above your crosshairs telling you exactly what you did and how many points : it was worth. And in case you were too busy playing the game to read the : text, the announcer will inform you verbally for anything rarer than a : headshot. I was honestly taken aback by how prevalent this system is -- I : thought it would be reserved for events that are actually rare or : important. Not the case. Headshot, assist, distraction, fuel rod kill, : grenade kill, vehicle kill, wheelman, revenge, etc etc. :( : - Indicators are everywhere. Some of them I have issue with: power weapons

First, thanks for sharing. Second, thanks for pointing out the one thing that's been eating away the back of my eyeballs. I'm going to refer to this as information diarrhea, or perhaps notification pollution. This is one thing I've always liked about Halo, that for the most part, the notifications in game are not distracting or too frequent. I don't understand the desire for all of this crap. I honestly don't. I can understand the need for critical feedback, such as * you killed _______ (or someone else was killed by in team games) * you were killed by _______ * you were sniped by _______ * blank has the objective * the objective is _________ But I don't understand the need for the announcer to blurt out EVERYTHING like I saw in all the game play videos I watched. I don't know if its a problem for younger kids to not know whats going on, or the "casual gamer" but I consider myself a casual gamer and I don't have any problems seeing this stuff as it's been done in the past Halos. Fucking people with short attention spans and the need for instant gratification. Stop rewarding the little brats! This isn't to say I don't like the medals, or when the announcer is rattling off a kill streak counter, or objective status but for everything else, it just seems too excessive, like 343 is worried the player will miss something even through there are post game stats and theater to go back and see what you did. I say screw em. If you've got too short an attention span, for a video game, you need to go do something else! YOU WALKED ACROSS THE MAP! TRAVELER MEDAL AWARDED!!! YOU RELOADED YOUR GUN! PLAYING THE GAME MEDAL AWARDED, LEVEL UP!! YOU PRESSED 'START' AT THE MAIN MENU, ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! I really hope this was just temporary stuff for the PAX showing to make it easier for the crowd or that it can be adjusted. Keep
Other than that, It looks fun to play.
