Nah, just makes it easier to grief. I'll be particularly looking for spots where Spartans can't get to that are still within kill barriers where I can heave that thing to keep the other team from getting at it to delay victory. And if being killed in a particular direction, I'll be sure to heave that ball in the complete and total opposite direction of wherever I'm dying from to put the odds of a spawn near where I threw it in my favor as opposed to having the ball just plop down where I died. It's not beyond redemption, but the gametype seems like it's going to be much easier to screw people over with now that I can launch the thing.

The answer to this question makes about as much sense as 343 Industries' objective game types for H4 (in my opinion, and mostly referring to CTF, and hopefully that other reply of yours implies something good about CTF).
