Probably worth considering that 343i is likely under a bit of pressure to prove that this isn't 'just another Halo game', they need to put emphasis on the new elements of the sandbox in order to create some buzz about how the series is evolving. So yes, Ordinance Drops are getting pushed at the moment, but that's not to say that the classic halo formula is being pushed by the wayside.
