In Response To: Re: NO SIR, I DON'T LIKE IT (Louis Wu) : Ordinance drops are only available in certain gametypes. Even if the entire : concept makes the game unfair, in your opinion, it just means that you : should stay away from that gametype - shouldn't be a problem, there are : plenty more. (Think of all the Action Sack gametypes you hate - you don't : have to play them, you can just avoid the Action Sack playlist.) True, but usually in this situation, you lead with your best foot. 343i places enough importance in the OD mechanic to put it on display in the first real look the world gets at Halo 4. I get what you're saying that it technically can be avoided, but this importance leads me to believe that the marginalized playlists will be the ones that don't have ODs. I could be wrong, but I don't remember Action Sacky games being demo'd in the first looks of Reach. : It's true that first impressions might not match second/third/100th
The only conclusions I'm drawing are that I do or don't like what I've read or heard. I'm not saying "I will not buy Halo 4" or "Halo 4 will indubitably be a bad game." I'm stating my opinion on the news that's being given to us for basically that purpose. It seems weird that if Nexy says "I played Halo 4 and [this] happened," "I like what Nexy said about Halo 4" = appropriate and well-founded discussion suitable for the forum, but "I don't like what Nexy said about Halo 4" = assumptive and not suitable for the forum because it's not founded on personal experience But I get that you're not trying to stifle dissent, and that you're just trying to keep the tenor of the forum positive. It's an exciting time for a lot of people here, and my brand of ranting puts a damper on it. So I'll lay off and try to only say nice things about the game for a while. What are you drinking RIGHT NOW?
