In Response To: Halo 4 HANDS-ON Impressions by Nexy (CyReN) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNYfJDd971E&feature=youtu.be&a I think I'd disagree with Nexy that the grenades are overpowered; I think he might have simply done well in the game(s) he played. I played a bunch of games today, and a bunch of games last month, and I NEVER felt like I was getting a bonus from overpowered grenades. And I'd love to remind people that bits are still being tweaked; I spoke to a couple of 343 guys about particular weapons and armor abilities, and they're not happy with (for example) the overpowered Scattershot or the currently-too-fast Evade replacement (I can't remember its name). I'm pretty confident that all of this stuff will be brought into reasonable balance - I think that the bit Nexy talked about where he chained overshields together is something that is only possible at this early stage. I'm really sorry that all these people who DIDN'T get to play are commenting with all this negative feedback - when people who DID play (Walshy, Nexy, me) are almost completely positive. I feel like the conversation is being driven by the negative - that even the people who have good things to say are DEFENDING against the vitriol of those who see something they don't think they like and react to it viscerally, rather than considering that maybe they don't know the full story. I'm not saying for a minute that there shouldn't be any dissent in the discussions - I'm saying that if you don't have the full story, maybe considering that you don't have the full story should factor into your comments. I don't mind folks who are worried - I mind that the TONE of the discussion is being driven by the negativity. There's a huge difference between "I wish we'd seen X, I'm worried by Y" and "Halo 4 will suck because of Z". I'll have a far more complete writeup at some point - we got a chance to play Spartan Ops tonight, something that almost nobody at the show has gotten to do, and I have impressions I'd love to share - but I'd really love it if folks would think about how their words are being interpreted before they hit the 'post' button.
